Our ability to identify and welcome difference is an intuitive muscle that needs exercising like any other. It asks us to centre ourselves, hold good boundaries and welcome something unknown. These are key tools in maintaining stability and connection, two qualities whose essential humanity looks to become increasingly important.
Julian has been learning and practicing Whole Body Focusing for five years. He has worked with teachers from the USA, Canada and Belgium. For the last three years he has co-facilitated a monthly meeting for GLBTQ men investigating new paths to intimacy and connection and has presented many times at Stretch Festival in Berlin. In Australia Julian has worked for the last 15 years as a performing artist in dance, theatre, film and television. Throughout his career he has been particularly drawn to physical theatre; working with Chunky Move, Force Majeure and Tanja Liedtke. Julian has an ongoing practice exploring the interaction of his focusing and artistic practices. He is guided by the understanding that a deeper connection to body and intuition offers space for healing and provides a compassionate and connected path forward in these uncertain times.
