A 90 minutes yin yoga session designed to be practiced in the bedroom or living-room, using pillows and cushions as yoga props. Wearing your most comfortable clothes and from the comfort of your home, this session aims to release tension from your body and mind, creating a “holding space” to practice mindfulness and meditation, bettering our emotional health. As we progress through these physical, emotional and spiritual layers, the opportunity for expanding our consciousness easily follows. Today’s Yin Yoga is highly influenced by the philosophies of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), according to which, the body contains meridians – invisible energy highways - which carry Qi (energy). The physical postures of Yin are said to work with these meridian lines to improve health and wellbeing.
David began practicing yoga in 2002 in Portugal, after hanging up the shoes as a professional dancer. His yoga journey made him travel from Portugal back to his home country, Spain, followed by Thailand, UAE, Estonia, Italy, Israel and Indonesia, where he is currently based. In 2009, already working as a yoga and movement educator, David was introduced to Ashtanga yoga, completing his first yoga teacher training in 2014. Over the years, he continued deepening his studies in Yoga Therapy, Yin Yoga, and Rocket Yoga. All those years of interdisciplinary approaches to functional movement can be felt during David’s classes, which focus on building a strong body and mind. His classes are challenging, yet lighthearted, with attention on exploration and transformation. David would like to share the same vitality, happiness and passion with his students the same way he has cultivated his own experience every time he practices yoga. David is an E-RYT 200, RYT 300, YACEP / International Travel Yoga Educator Instagram and Facebook: @david_yogasana
